Bangladesh is a very small country located just beside India.Although being small in area it has very rich culture dating back to ancient times.Talking about the food,they are very different in  taste and look from most of the western food.Let us go through some of the famous foods of Bangladesh which are very liked by tourists:

Swarma:Among the foods Swarma is often liked by everyone.It’ actually a round thin bread wrapped around meat and vegetables.It could be beef,chicken or mutton for the meat part.


Among vegetables there are mostly salad,tomatoes,lettuce and onion.It’s very delicious all together.This food has also been featured in the movie The Avengers.


Chotpoti:Although Chotpoti is considered a roadside dish but it can be made at home as well and it’s served in famous restaurants too.


Chotpoti consists of  Bengal Gram.They are a kind of seed which can be cooked and added to a food item.Along with it boiled egg slices,lettuce,small lettuce and very small pieces of onions are added.


Panta Bhat:Panta Bhat is actually rice.But not just ordinary cooked rice.There are some other ingredients added to it to make a different taste.

First  rice is cooked and than salt is added to it.Later they are kept in the refrigerator and after some hours the total taste happens without keeping in the refrigerator as well but during heavy heat in summer sometimes they rot outside.This food is one of the earliest traditional foods of Bangladesh.Along with this Hilsa fish is added like shown in the picture.Sometimes other vegetables are added as well.

3.Sometimes cooked food kept in the refrigerator makes a bad smell.Put a half cut potato near it to absorb the smell away and keep the inside air of the refrigerator fresh.

4.Put the eggs with their pointed side being downward.It helps to keep them fresh longer.

5.Always store cucumber and tomatoes in separate case.Tomato releases gases which helps cucumbers to rot at faster rate.

6.Also don’t keep apples with other fruits and vegetables.Apples also release gas which helps other to rot faster.
